Sook-Yin Lee's excellent sex work comedy Paying for It is getting its theatrical release at the end of this month, and to mark the occasion, the writer-director is releasing her very own score for the movie.
The original soundtrack was composed and performed by Lee herself, along with frequent collaborator Dylan Gamble (of Toronto psych band Hot Garbage); they sometimes perform together under the name Lee & Gamble Unlimited.
The album consists of 28 tracks and is out next Friday (January 31) through Mint Records — the same day Paying for It begins playing in theatres. It will be available digitally and on CD. A press release indicates this will be a sonically diverse album, touching on classical, jazz, grunge (on the track titled "Shitty 90s Song," naturally) and rave techno.
