Someone Painted a Mural of Pete Doherty Eating a Massive Breakfast

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Aug 28, 2018

Last week, Libertines and Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty made surprisingly wholesome headlines when he polished off a ridiculously large breakfast. Now, an artistic genius has immortalized the moment with a mural.

Doherty downed the food challenge at the Dalby Café in Cliftonville, nearby where the Libertines have set up a seaside studio in Margate. The mural appeared earlier this week across the bay in Southend-on-Sea.

It was painted by John Bulley, and it captures Doherty looking a little worse for wear, which is understandable given the challenge he completed. Doherty managed to wolf down four pieces of bacon, four eggs, four sausages, hashbrowns, onion rings, bubble and squeak, beans, two slices of toast, a quarter-pounder burger, and fries.

He finished it all in under 20 minutes, earning him the massive meal free of charge. According the restaurant's manager Alan Wood, Doherty wasn't even fazed by the meal.

"Afterwards he just sat there and had a fag whilst watching the world go by," Wood told Kent Online.

Doherty's marked the first successful attempt at the food challenge since 2014.
