Snoop Dogg is never not smoking a fat blunt, nor launching a business venture related to other things you put into your mouth. Shortly after bamboozling Jack White with his breakfast cereal Snoop Loopz, the D-O-Double-G has announced a collaboration with TSUMo Snacks called Snazzle Os — crispy, onion-flavoured rings infused with Cannabis that will be available exclusively at MedMen dispensary locations in California beginning on Thursday (October 6).
TSUMo operates under the mandate that, while the market for weed gummies and otherwise-sweet edibles is incredibly oversaturated, there is an alarming lack of savoury snacks coming out of the ever-booming cannabis industry.
"I'm excited to partner with TSUMo Snacks to bring some new snack options to the fans," Snoop said in a press release. "There are plenty of sweet edibles out there, so when I created this product I wanted to put the Dogg twist on it, which is why I'm bringing the savoury THC-infused crispy onion-flavoured rings to my home state of California. You know that if I'm going to put my name on something, it's guaranteed stamped Snoop D-O-Double-G fresh."
TSUMo Snacks co-founder and CEO Caroline Yeh added:
Teaming up with the iconic Snoop Dogg for this snack collab was something my team and I have been dreaming about. Snoop aligns perfectly with TSUMo Snacks' values, as he has always been authentic to his true self. And we know our fans love Snoop, too! We jumped on the opportunity to collaborate with him to create these salty, crispy, onion-flavoured rings that are reminiscent of his own favourite snack. We can't wait to see what our fans think of this innovative, first-of-its-kind cannabis edible.
According to The Washington Post's review of the salty snacks, they actually taste really good; think a blend between Funyuns and Flamin' Hot Cheetos or Takis.
Currently, the company has introduced two flavours of Snazzle Os: Onion and Spicy Onion ("Don't get me started on the spicy onion — owee, that kick!" Snoop testifies), each meant-for-sharing bag infused with 100mg of THC.
Later this month, Snazzle Os will expand to other dispensaries in the US, although there's no word on when or if they'll become available in Canada. Likewise, we haven't heard much more about the rap legend's efforts to trademark "Snoop Doggs" for — you guessed it — a line of hot diggity-dogs.
