Toronto's "Slayer Swimmer" Immortalized on Budweiser Can

BY Matt BobkinPublished Jul 8, 2019

It's been over a year since Oshawa resident Chris LaRocque infamously got kicked out of a Slayer show at Toronto's Budweiser Stage and attempted to swim back in. Though his attempts to re-enter the show were unsuccessful, the venue has paid tribute to LaRocque in the form of a new commemorative beer can.

The new can commemorates the venue's 25th anniversary, with a design that honours 25 acts that have performed at the venue since it opened in 1995 as the Molson Amphitheatre. LaRocque's likeness (complete with water droplets and Anthrax T-shirt) appears at the bottom of the can.

Other honoured acts include Arcade Fire, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Drake, Pearl Jam, Nickelback, Van Halen, Counting Crows and Black Sabbath.

Said LaRocque in a Facebook post, "I wonder if I can get free beer?"
