Remember when Arkells' Max Kerman got a Hamilton snowplow named after him? That didn't impress Shania Twain much, because the country legend has had a technologically advanced train in Switzerland christened in her honour. While it's not exactly news, it is to us!

Unveiled in December, the country's new panoramic railway offering — the GoldenPass Express (GPX) train dubbed "Shania Train" — runs from Montreux on Lake Geneva to Interlaken, following the "Golden Pass" trade route that has existed since the Middle Ages.

Cutting-edge technology allows GPX to both change gauge to adjust for track differences and raise the height of each carriage in the case of higher BLS station platforms, meaning it's the first train to offer nonstop service on the route. Now passengers can come on over the Swiss Alps in just three hours, without having to change trains multiple times.

Timmins-born Twain has lived by Lake Geneva for the past decade. "The Canadian singer is the godmother of the Shania Train," a Montreux Oberland Bernois Railway spokesperson said in a statement [via CTV News].

The singer-songwriter was on hand for the locomotive's inauguration at the end of last year, tweeting, "All aboard the Shania Train to Twain Town."

Honey, you're about to be home – all thanks to the Shania Train.
