Scissor Sisters' Jake Shears Joins Queens of the Stone Age Album

The upcoming Queens of the Stone Age album just keeps on getting bigger. Not only have the beloved rock group already recruited Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor and Nick Oliveri for their "manic and unpredictable" sessions, but they have now added Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears to the LP's roster of guest stars.

Yesterday (December 20), Shears tweeted, "Jake Shears + Queens of the Stone Age = satanic cabaret" and posted a photo of himself being embraced by Josh Homme (awesomely enough, in front of a projected image from Troll 2). He also posted a photo of himself and Homme with a massive porn image behind them, writing, "After singing together for awhile, Josh Homme and I settled down to watch some educational films. #newQueensOfTheStoneAgeAlbum."

This follows his previous tweet on Wednesday (December 19), "I just got to do something insanely cool with some fierce Queens."

As Spin points out, Shears told the Daily Star last year that working with QOTSA would be his "dream collaboration" — so it looks as if his dream has come true.

Earlier this week, reports indicated that the new Queens of the Stone Age album would be out in March, but these rumours have since been denied by the band's management. Previously, the disc has been tentatively pegged for a June release.
