As Antiquiet points out, Reznor broke the news earlier today (November 13) in an online chat with fans meant to discuss the release of How to Destroy Angels' new An Omen EP. When asked what else the iconic artist has up his sleeve, he responded, "A number of things. Tweaking some things for the HTDA full LP [due in the spring], helping Josh [Homme] out on a new QOTSA track, working with Roy, starting rehearsals for two bands."
Details on exactly what song he's working on for the Queens are unclear, but this will be the second time the singer has appeared with the band. Reznor added some back-up vocals to "Era Vulgaris," which appeared as a bonus track on certain import and tour editions of the group's 2007 record of the same name.
This is the second star-studded reveal regarding the as-yet-untitled LP this month. Last week, Homme confirmed that longtime collaborator Dave Grohl had rejoined the band for the record and posted a picture of a studio soundboard with one channel reflecting Homme's guitar and another with Grohl's drum work.
As previously reported, the new Queens of the Stone Age album is expected to drop sometime before next June's Download Festival in the UK.
You can read Reznor's entire talk on Reddit over here, where he also confirms that Nine Inch Nails will be reissuing The Fragile and that the Year Zero TV series is "in a holding state."
