Rihanna is now a billionaire, making her the wealthiest woman in music, according to a report by Forbes.
The business magazine states that Rihanna has amassed an estimated $1.7 billion USD — but not from performance alone. The majority of the R&B singer's fortune is attributed to her successful cosmetics brand, Fenty Beauty, where Rihanna holds a 50 percent ownership stake.
Based on the finance publication's assessment, Fenty Beauty is reported to be worth at least $2.8 billion USD, which could make up as much as $1.4 billion of the artist's $1.7 billion USD net worth.
With Fenty Beauty reportedly accounting for most of her riches, Forbes further noted that Rihanna's lingerie brand, Savage x Fenty, accounts for $270 million USD, while the rest of her fortune has accumulated through her music and film endeavours.
Forbes' estimate of $1.7 billion makes Rihanna the wealthiest woman musician in the world and the second-wealthiest woman in entertainment behind Oprah Winfrey.
While this is good news for Rihanna, it may not spell such good news for fans, who have been not-so-patiently waiting for the artist to drop a follow-up to 2016's ANTI.
