Reuben and the Dark Unveils New Album 'un | love'

Hear "faultline" from the Canadian project's upcoming record

Reuben and the Dark is returning to our lives with a new album. The Calgary alt-folk unit helmed by Reuben Bullock will release un | love on October 25 via Arts & Crafts. Right now, though, you can hear the album's first teaser track "faultline."

The purposely lowercase song is described as "an intimate portrait of internal struggle and soul-searching, caught between past and future."

Reuben himself puts it like this:

It feels like a reflective song. Driving on the highway late at night. Looking back over your life. The plans you made. And the way those plans can change. Driving while your passenger sleeps beside you. It's about trust and self-destruction. Feeling power and, simultaneously, a lack of control.

Hear "faultline" for yourself below.

As for un | love as a whole, it marks the project's third full-length, following up 2018's Arms of a Dream and 2014's Funeral Sky. The album was produced by Reuben and the Dark alongside Marcus Paquin (the National, Timber Timbre) and Kevin Drew (Broken Social Scene).

A press release states, "The forthcoming collection is a bare, cathartic exploration of life's undeniable crossroads, and the fateful depths that await there."

In addition to the new album, Reuben and the Dark has mapped out a Canadian tour. You'll find all the stops below the tracklist.
