Red Hot Chili Peppers Show Their Soft Side on Ballad "Not the One"

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 24, 2022

Red Hot Chili Peppers have shared another taste of the upcoming Unlimited Love. "Not the One" is streaming now.

"Not the One" is a softer, mellower song than RHCP's last couple of singles, with the chords handled by a piano and John Frusciante's guitars mostly playing shimmering background textures. With soft rock drum fills and unusually straightforward lyrics about aging and romantic disappointment, it finds the band in their most sentimental mode.

This follows prior singles "Poster Child" and "Black Summer." Unlimited Love is out on April 1 through Warner.
