Rammstein Reveal 'Rammstein in Amerika' Documentary

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Aug 14, 2015

You'll soon be able to take a good look at the fiery history of German outfit Rammstein via an upcoming concert film/documentary. Their Rammstein in Amerika arrives on DVD and Blu-ray September 25 via Island/UMe.

A press release for the film explains that Rammstein in Amerika is a two-hour doc that covers the Berlin band's early days, through to their mid-'90s impact on North American culture via their "Du Hast" single, work with David Lynch on Lost Highway and their career into the current decade. Through it all, it strings together vintage footage and interviews, capping with a 2010 performance at New York City's Madison Square Garden.

In addition to candid moments with the band, the film also features interviews with Iggy Pop, Marilyn Manson, Korn's Jonathan Davis, Red Hot Chili Peppers skinsman Chad Smith, Moby, Melissa Auf der Maur, Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler, CJ Ramone and Scott Ian. It also includes members of Slipknot, System of a Down, Kiss and more.

The two-DVD package features both the documentary and the full performance at Madison Square Garden. It also adds a 20-minute behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of Rammstein's most recent LP, 2009's Liebe Ist Für Alle Da.

This wouldn't be pointed out for most bands, but, perhaps predictably, the dildo pushers have affixed the release with fairly phallic cover art. As you can see up above, it's the towering Washington Monument, sheathed in the American flag.

You'll find the trailer for Rammstein in Amerika beneath the New York show's setlist info.
