Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang, the new album that Raekwon suggested for a September release, may have been a premature announcement, as we're now one month away and don't have a solid release date or tracklisting. Rather than despair over a lack of new material, however, the Wu-Tang legend is planning to tide us over with an expanded edition of his 2009 effort Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt. II.
The reissue is called Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt. II: The Gold Deluxe Edition, and according to XXL [via Prefix], it will be released this month. In addition to the stellar album, the expanded edition will include the new songs "Never Matter" featuring Bun B and "Rock Stars" featuring GZA and Inspectah Deck. On top of that, the set will include remixes of album tracks, some of which feature Travis Barker and the Game. The release will also include music videos for "New Wu," "House of Flying Daggers," "Surgical Gloves," "Canal Street," "Have Mercy" and "Catalina."
Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt. II: The Gold Deluxe Edition will drop on August 17. The digital-only release will be an iTunes exclusive. As for Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang, don't get your hopes too high for a September release. After all, Cuban Linx... Pt. II was delayed for over five years before it got released.
