While yesterday (January 21) we learned that Radiohead would be hitting up the European festival circuit for their first shows in four years, it's looking like the campaign behind their still to-be-detailed next album could extend into Canada, with rumours surging that the group will headline Montreal's three-day Osheaga event.
Mind you, this has not been confirmed by the group's official W.A.S.T.E. website, but Consequence of Sound reports that a source close to the scene has said that Radiohead will headline Osheaga, as well as this summer's Lollapalooza event in Chicago and the Outside Lands festival in San Francisco.
While it's been confirmed that Osheaga runs July 31 to August 2 at Montreal's Parc-Jean Drapeau, the artist lineup has yet to go live. In response to the currently circulating Radiohead rumour, a representative for the event revealed: "We are currently working on finishing up the lineup. We should be announcing shortly."
Additionally, neither the officials from Lollapalooza, which runs July 28 to 31, nor Outside Lands, which takes places from August 5 to 7, have confirmed whether the English group will take part in their respective events.
As previously reported, Radiohead play Barcelona's Primavera on June 3, with a press release promoting the evening as the "presentation of the new album by the British band Radiohead." The group are also due to stop by Switzerland's Openair St. Gallen festival on July 2 and Portugal's Nos Alive on July 8.
Though nothing has been confirmed officially, it's suspected that the release of Radiohead's new album coming up soon, this owing to the group establishing a new publishing company called Dawn Chorus LLP. The act had acted similarly in the past, forming Xurbia Xendless Ltd. ahead of the release of 2007's In Rainbows and starting their Ticker Tape Ltd. before releasing 2011's The King of Limbs.
Tour dates:
06/03 Barcelona, Spain - Primavera Festival
07/02 St. Gallen, Switzerland - Openair St. Gallen
07/08 Lisbon, Portugal - Nos Alive
