Radiohead members Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood have rolled out another song from their side-project the Smile. "Skrting on the Surface" is streaming now.
The song is a jazzy, atmospheric track featuring a web of guitar arpeggios and feather-light drums, accompanied by Yorke's ghostly falsetto and mournful horns. It ends with an extended instrumental jam. The scratchy black-and-white video shows the singer making his way through a mine.
"Skrting on the Surface" was previously a Radiohead song, as the group performed it live a decade ago. It's no surprise to see it emerge as a single from the Smile, as the band have been playing it during live performances.
"Skrting on the Surface" follows prior singles "The Smoke" and "You Will Never Work in Television Again." There are still no details on when the full album will come out through XL Recordings.
