Radiohead members Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood have shared "The Smoke," the latest single from their side-project the Smile.
The song features a long, minimal intro with a full minute of drums and Yorke's strutting bassline. It gradually builds with Yorke's falsetto, swells of horns and some atmospheric textures from Greenwood — although the whole thing remains significantly more moody and mellow than rockin' previous single "You Will Never Work in Television Again."
Check out the video below. The abstract black and white visuals were created by Mark Jenkin.
The Smile are performing a livestream concert this weekend, with three performances to air live over the internet: January 29 at 3:00 p.m. ET, January 29 at 8:00 p.m. ET, and January 30 at 6:00 a.m. ET.
