Last summer, it was reported that the Smile — the new band of Radiohead's Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, and Sons of Kemet's Tom Skinner — had finished a debut album. Now, the trio have shared the group's first single.
"You Will Never Work in Television Again" can be heard below alongside an accompanying lyric video directed by Duncan Loudon. Produced by Nigel Godrich, the song was first heard in the band's setlist during the livestreamed Glastonbury performance at which they made their debut.
If you missed that livestream event, the Smile have also announced plans for three more, played consecutively within a twenty-four-hour period at Magazine London on January 29 and January 30. All three will be captured by director Paul Dugdale.
Further information on livestream viewing, performance tickets and set times can be found via the Smile's official website.
Last year saw Yorke, Greenwood and their Radiohead bandmates reflect on releases past with KID A MNESIA, a retrospective collection that brings together sister albums Kid A and Amnesiac. Skinner, meanwhile, released Black to the Future with Sons of Kemet.
