The past couple years have been filled with periodic updates about the future of Radiohead, with assessments ranging from "there's no Radiohead at the moment" to "Radiohead is still very much an active ensemble." Now, drummer Phil Selway has offered another update, suggesting that the group's lengthy break is coming to an end.

Appearing on a livestream with the Crow Hill Company this past Friday (November 24), Selway hinted that Radiohead were reaching the point where they were ready to reunite.

"We've actually had a little break for a minute; the last show that we did was back in 2018," he said. "But we're coming back 'round to that point now. There is just something particular to that relationship — that creative relationship and personal relationship — actually, you can't get anywhere else."

Selway continued, "We're all coming back around to that point now of thinking, 'Right, we've had a break — this is it. This feels like something to dive back into and really explore and see what other directions it can take us in.'" Watch Selway's appearance on the livestream below.

Radiohead haven't released an album since 2016's A Moon Shaped Pool. Meanwhile, Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood's side project the Smile are preparing a new album titled A Wall of Eyes for release in January.
