Questlove has showed off his skills beyond the realm of drumming for the Roots with past projects in supervising TV music, writing, acting, politics, and even the art of fried chicken — all while holding down the beat as the leader of the backing band on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Now, the musician (born Ahmir Thompson) has confirmed plans to score an upcoming indie drama.

Questlove recently confirmed that he composed the music for Vincent N Roxxy, which is set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival next month.

Now, further details have been unveiled about the upcoming movie. It stars Emile Hirsch, Zoë Kravitz, Zoey Deutch, Jason Mitchell, Beau Knapp and Scott Mescudi (a.k.a. Kid Cudi), and tells the story of a romance between a smalltown loner and a rebellious punk fleeing from a trail of violent events. It was written and directed by Gary Michael Schultz.

Questlove's previous movie scoring experience includes Chris Rock's 2014 comedy Top Five.
