The Queers

Pleasant Screams

Joe Queer won't give up. And while that may mean different things for different people, fans of attitude-laden pop punk should be jumping up and down because of it. This is their first LP in a few years after the death of drummer Hugh O'Neill in 1999 and the time off has proven fruitful. Joe has a knack for writing catchy Beach Boys-style tunes with a punk edge as well as the Ramones-y stuff he's famous for. Add guest contributions in the form of songs co-written by Ben Weasel and vocals by the likes of Smears vocalist Gretchen Smear. Top it off with the production of Mass Giorgini and you've got a swell selection of original songs and covers that you'll wind up being charmed by.
