PS I Love You

Lee's Palace, Toronto ON March 24

PS I Love You's set was short and frill-less, but lacked none of the bombast that drew so many to their debut record. Suffering from the flu, Paul Saulnier said little to crowd but made up for it with some mighty riffing and soloing on almost every song. And while favourites like "Facelove" made an appearance, the band's set was mostly populated by tracks from new album Death Dreams, which drops in May. The Ontario duo have added an additional member for their live shows, which frees up Saulnier for more guitar noodling but also seems to allow the singer-guitarist to explore more melodic territory while someone else deals with the bottom end. Expect these guys to be headlining this venue the next time they swing through town.
