Proceeds from Kim Gordon's New Song "Grass Jeans" to Benefit Abortion Rights in Texas

"I often get asked 'Can music change things for people in a political landscape?' Hell yes it can"

Kim Gordon has shared a new song called "Grass Jeans," the December proceeds of which will go to support Fund Texas Choice.

The song feels more in line with Gordon's older work than it does her rad solo debut No Home Record, eschewing the programmed drums and hip-hop influence for a more classic Sonic Youth sound.

In a statement about the song, Gordon said:

I often get asked 'Can music change things for people in a political landscape?' Hell yes it can. But it takes a listener, an audience to make it anything. So please join me in helping to protect and keep accessible a woman's right to choose her fate by purchasing this song and supporting Fund Texas Choice and their collective efforts to secure abortion access for all. Thank you. It means so much.

Most recently, Gordon put out a new record with Bill Nace and Aaron Dilloway as Body/Dilloway/Head. No Home Record came out in 2019.
