Poorfolk

Poorfolk
One of a handful of bands signed to White Whale Records, Ottawa/Montreal’s Poorfolk seemed reluctant to let go of record label daddy and the Mohawk Lodge front-man Ryder Havdale’s hand during their set. Granted, they did attempt to veil their insecurities with joking shout-outs to him. But Poorfolk still played a solid set of plain rock songs, sounding more west coast like their label than east coast like their surroundings. With time, I’m sure the training wheels will come off.
