In 1995, Björk taught us all (even those of us not born yet) a radical new way of managing doom-minded relationship stresses with the legendary "Hyperballad": climb to the top of a cliff, and start hucking shit off the edge. To feel happier! To be safe up here with you!
Now, PinkPantheress is paying homage to that concept with the new video for "Capable of love." Okay, so that might be a tiny stretch — there's a chance this is all coincidence. But I prefer to believe that the video, which features PinkPantheress tossing car parts and cutlery (no bottles, as far as I can see) into a pit, is a loving nod to her pop forebear.
The largely black-and-white video sees PinkPantheress toss forks, spoons, a steering wheel, an anvil, a chair, a traffic sign, some dynamite and a whole bunch of other junk into a deep pit before she herself heads down into the dark — it's not a cliff, but it's close enough.
"Capable of love" is PinkPantheress's latest taste of her recently announced full-length debut Heaven knows, which is arriving November 10.
