Pink Floyd Plot Restored Edition of 'P.U.L.S.E.,' Surprise Release 12 Live Albums on Streaming

The newly revamped live album lands in February, meanwhile live recordings from the early '70s are now available to stream

Hey, you — Pink Floyd have announced their plans to release a newly restored and re-edited version of their 1995 live album P.U.L.S.E. and have now shared 12 albums of live recordings, spanning the years 1970 to 1972, to streaming services.

The P.U.L.S.E. video footage has been re-edited from the original tape masters and the physical release — expected to land on February 18, 2022 — reintroduces the classic pulsating light from the 1995 CD release. Filmed in London on October 20, 1994, the recording is the sole one in existence that captured a full performance of seminal album The Dark Side of the Moon.

If that's not enough, with no prior announcement, 12 official live Pink Floyd albums from the early '70s were just made available on streaming services. The earliest one, titled They Came in Peace, was recorded from sets at Leeds University (February 1970) and Washington University (November 1971).

Meanwhile the most recent was taped in Tokyo (March 1972) and features seven Dark Side tracks performed in sequence almost a full year before the album was released.

To place a Canadian brick in the wall, one of the live albums — The Screaming Abdads — was recorded in Quebec City.

See the pack-shot and a teaser trailer for the forthcoming P.U.L.S.E. reissue below, as well as a full list of the live Pink Floyd albums recently added to streaming services.

The band recently reissued 1987's A Momentary Lapse of Reason in 360 reality audio.
