A Perfect Murder

Cease to Suffer

BY Jasamine White-GluzPublished Oct 1, 2003

Rising from the ashes of two recently defunct Montreal hardcore favourites, In Dying Days and A Death for Every Sin, A Perfect Murder have come to give the city’s scene a new face. With their latest release Cease to Suffer, APM throw their pleasingly pounding sound into 12 impressive tracks. The band’s concentrated guitar sound gives the songs just the right heaviness, matched perfectly by lead vocalist Francois Pellerin’s shout/screams. Behind all this heaviness are actually some pretty awesome melodies, like on the irresistibly danceable "Laughed at my Pain” or the mellow "Interlude.” With this release, A Perfect Murder is helping shape what can soon be coined as the "Montreal hardcore sound.”
