Toronto's art-punk provocateur Peaches has announced a North American, European and UK tour in celebration of the (slightly belated) 20th anniversary of her seminal album The Teaches of Peaches.
The stint will bring her to Montreal and Toronto, with shows at Mtelus and Rebel scheduled for May 25 and 26, respectively.
UPDATE (3/15, 5:30 p.m. ET): An additional date for the Teaches of Peaches Anniversary Tour has been added for May 15 at Vancouver's Harbour Event Centre. MRG Presale begins Thursday (March 17) at 10 a.m. PST ahead of tickets going on sale to the general public this Friday (March 18).
"Wildly excited to celebrate, with you all, 20 years of & reimagine the power that is The Teaches of Peaches album live across North America, Europe & the UK!," the artist said in a statement. "It's been frustrating to abstain from touring the past 2 years & now I'm so ready for us to 'Fuck the Pain Away' together!"
Led by the aforementioned breakout single, which was recently covered on Season 3 of Netflix's Sex Education, The Teaches of Peaches was released on September 5, 2000, as the Canadian musician's sophomore studio album and her first under the stage name Peaches. In 2015, the record won the 2000s category of the inaugural Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize — an annual award for classic albums.
Tickets for the Teaches of Peaches Anniversary Tour go on sale to the public this Friday (February 4) here, following various pre-sale opportunities beginning tomorrow (February 1).
