Rob Zombie

Past, Present & Future

BY Amber AuthierPublished Dec 1, 2003

Past, Present & Future is the ultimate Rob Zombie collection. Covering his career from the launch of the adrenaline-filled and image-run White Zombie days in 1985 through to movie-making madness of present day (with two new unreleased solos tracks, "Two-Lane Blacktop" and "Girl on Fire") this CD/DVD combo is filled with visually slapping videos, stupidly wicked rock'n'roll and debaucherous memories for anyone who came of age in the Rob Zombie era. It is easy to forget what an impact White Zombie had on the grunge rock world of the early 1990s with their techno flavoured, sample-filled dance metal tunes. Visually they didn't look like anything else that was out there at the time. Sure, Rob Zombie has had his ups and downs since the band split in 1996. Sure, some of us would rather forget The Sinister Urge and House of 1000 Corpses but Rob Zombie remains a single entity in the essential music handbook. No one has come close to creating the sonic sounds that Zombie mastered early in his game. I had a blast listening to this CD and watching this DVD. And those two unreleased tracks I mentioned earlier? Seriously kick ass!
