A couple years back, drag star Trixie Mattel slid into Orville Peck's DMs to say that she's a big fan. Now, the pair have teamed up for a cover of the country classic "Jackson."
The song recalls the famous rendition by Johnny Cash and June Carter, as Peck and Mattel duet over a twangy arrangement that chugs along with the brisk pace of a runaway train. For the accompanying video, Peck and Mattel don their signature snazzy duds and perform in an empty theatre while backed by a (somewhat socially distanced) trio.
