Old Man Luedecke Announces Canadian Tour in Support of My Hands Are On Fire and Other Love Songs

The pride of Chester, NS has announced his forthcoming travels through Canada in support of My Hands Are On Fire and Other Love Songs, slated for release on March 30 via Black Hen Music. Old Man Luedecke (whose real name is Chris and isn't actually that old) will start the tour in Vancouver, and make his way to Newfoundland after dipping below the border for a handful of shows in Maine this spring.

The banjo-strumming folkster won a Juno in 2009 for Best Roots Album, and recently expressed his urge to write honest music.

"The old blues and country artists I love were singing about the world they lived in," Luedecke said in a statement. "When they sang about trains and telephones, they weren't being ironic. It was new and what they saw around them. I want the songs I write to be catchy, but not at the cost of being true. I hear so many songs that have beautiful melodies, but I don't know what they're about and I can't feel them. I try to write about my life in a way that I'd like to read about somebody else's life."

As previously reported, Luedecke recently paired up with a Navy woodwind band to film an upcoming television special in honour of the Canadian Navy's 100th anniversary.
