The Offspring Reveal 20th Anniversary Reissue of 'Smash'

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 8, 2014

The Offspring's 1994 record Smash is frequently cited as the best-selling independent album ever, so it's not too much of a surprise that the group, along with Epitaph Records, will be commemorating the disc's 20th anniversary this year with an deluxe reissue.

In mid-August, Smash will be released as a special package that will contain the remastered album on both CD and vinyl, restyled artwork, and a large format 24-page booklet containing unseen photos.

Smash 20th Anniversary Edition is also available to pre-order in an expanded collector's box. This comes with an art print (the first 250 of which are signed and on linen), live photo print, pin, patch, tour pass replica, guitar pick and more.

The band will be playing Smash in full on tour this year. A number of European dates have been announced, but the North American schedule has yet to be fleshed out. Over here, you can see the currently revealed schedule, which includes a stop at Heavy Montreal on August 8 to 10.

Additionally, the Offspring are selling various 20th anniversary items at their online store. And scroll past the tour dates to hear a special 20th anniversary message from the band which appears to be read by the same dude who did the original album intro.
