Punk's pre-eminent purveyors of profanity follow up The Decline, their brilliant 18-minute rock-operetta-with-a-conscience, by getting back in touch with their sillier side. Having made a poignant social and political statement with The Decline, Fat Mike has freed himself to write about lesbians (in a third ode to Liza and Louise), transsexuals, the music industry, self-deprecation and partying. You know, the things that really matter. Even though there's nothing musically adventurous about this record, their eighth, it's nice to know that at least they haven't forgotten the key ingredients of the formula that has been working so well over the last 15 years. And as long as Mike retains his sense of humour, there will always be a reason to buy a new NOFX record.
