NOFX

The Decline

BY Stuart GreenPublished Dec 1, 1999

Always one step ahead of the competition, vanguard neo-punk architects NOFX deliver the best, maybe even only, punk rock symphony since Conflict's Ungovernable Force record. This EP contains a single 18-and-a-half minute track that is a literate and compelling deconstruction of contemporary American society in a dozen movements. Oh yah, and it fucking rocks too! Fat Mike and company rag on everything from pop culture to religion to firearm fanaticism. This is for NOFX what “Supper's Ready” was for Genesis or “2112” was for Rush. It's not only a great concept, it's delivered with more piss and vinegar than this band has displayed in a few years.
