Oasis/High Flying Birds singer-songwriter Noel Gallagher has revealed why he thinks people always have something negative to say about U2.
In a radio segment with Hometime presenters Andy Bush and Richie Firth on Absolute Radio, the rocker explained why people only think they dislike U2, when it's actually his friend, the band's "do-gooder" frontman Bono, who they probably hate.
"I get a bit frustrated when people are like 'I don't like U2,'" Gallagher said [via The Independent], "And I'm like no, what you are saying is you don't like Bono. It's like you're not telling me you don't like one single note that they've ever done. It's rubbish, it's nonsense."
He explained further: "I've said this to him, so I'll say it to you, nobody likes a do-gooder, nobody likes it. That's why people like me, I'm a do-badder."
Gallagher also commended U2's The Joshua Tree, likening the first side of the record to "a thriller."
As for Gallagher, the jury is still out on whether people like him for his "do-badder" attitude, or whether he's more popular for his messy relationship with his brother Liam.
Of course, given the opportunity to dunk on his younger brother, Noel also used his time on the radio to tell a story about a time that he met Keith Richards:
"So I go up to the bar and there is Keith Richards, looking exactly as you would imagine... He said, 'one thing I've always wanted to ask you, who is the bigger c**t, your singer or mine.'"
To which Gallagher responded: "Your singer wrote some of the greatest lyrics of all time. I'm going to say mine."
