The Montreal Symphony House will host a special live performance of Pantha Du Prince's new material from his 2013 album Elements of Light, created in collaboration with the Bell Laboratory, as a part of this year's MUTEK festival in Montreal, which takes place from May 29 to June 2.
The announcement comes shortly after the release of MUTEK's first and second phases of lineups, which, as previously reported, include a diverse variety of revered electronic musicians, such as John Talabot, Jamie Lidell and Andy Stott, as well as the Field, Jon Hopkins, and Brandt Brauer Frick, among many others.
Pantha Du Prince's performance itself will combine the techno-tinged electronics provided by the project's Hendrik Weber with the organic textures performed by the carillon and percussion players that comprise the Bell Laboratory collective, as well as showcase the Montreal Symphony House's impressive room acoustics.
Thanks to a partnership between MUTEK and the Red Bull Music Academy, which has made this special live show possible, the festival has also extended its ticket presale period until April 15, which can be purchased here.
