Murder City Devils

Halloween 2001 marked the end of Murder City Devils. Finishing their career at a gig in their hometown of Seattle, the melodic yet moody punk rock'n'rollers have left a fine testament to their career, with this DVD documenting the gig. Their constant nonchalance regarding their mortality (they seem to mention it's their final gig after each song) says a lot about their character, and they played their guts out in the last hurrah. Honouring all three of their full-length albums, as well as the Thelema EP, this video companion to R.I.P. is nicely shot and captures the visceral intensity their performances were known for. Fans will love this last nail in the coffin. (MVD)
