The Murder City Devils Ready Their First New Studio Album in Over a Decade

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 3, 2014

Reunited garage rock renegades the Murder City Devils have been talking up their new LP over on their blog the last couple of weeks, and now all the details behind The White Ghost Has Blood on Its Hands Again have been revealed. The self-released effort will officially arrive August 5.

While the band issued their two-song "Everyday I Rise" / "Ballbusters in the Peanut Gallery" 7-inch back in 2012, the upcoming album is their first proper long-player since 2000's In Name and Blood. The band recorded the set earlier this spring, with the final results yielding eight new Murder City tunes.

One of those tracks is the slinky, organ-soaked "Pale Disguise." You'll find a stream of the track, which has Spencer Moody's familiar grizzly growl in fine form, over here.

Pre-orders for the LP are now live, with the effort being offered up on various colours of vinyl. In addition to the standard black wax edition, 350 are pressed on "white with red splatter," 650 on "green and translucent white," and 500 copies set aside for their upcoming tour arrive on white vinyl, packaged in a hand-stamped jacket.
