Moses Sumney Goes 'Sophcore' on New EP, Shares "Gold Coast"

Moses Sumney has announced a new EP. The American singer-songwriter will share Sophcore on August 2 via his own Tuntum label.

"Sophcore explores the meeting points between sensuality and intuition … esotericism and populism … deep feeling and fun," Sumney shares of his latest in a statement. "It's diving into subterranean rhythm, bass and drums, and making music for the hips as well as the heart."

The EP features recent single "Vintage," as  well as new arrival "Gold Coast," which you can hear below alongside a visualizer capturing the artist's silhouette at sunset.

Marking his first EP since 2018's Black in Deep Red, 2014, the five-track Sophcore follows Sumney's 2020 double album græ and 2021 live LP Live from Blackalaicha.

Following his 2023 turn in The Idol, Sumney starred in Ti West's MaXXXine, appearing alongside Mia Goth, Kevin Bacon, Halsey and more.
