In news that sadly may not come as a surprise, Morrissey has postponed the kickoff of his first Canadian tour in more than a decade.

The controversial Smiths singer was set to perform two nights at Vancouver's Orpheum on April 14 and 15, but those have now been postponed until October 14 and 15, respectively.

Of the postponed dates, Ticketmaster shared the following statement with Vancouver ticket holders:

Due to a medical emergency stemming from an accident incurred while traveling in Europe, Morrissey will be forced to postpone his performances in Vancouver to October 14th and 15th, 2019.

Spirits are high and the artist is on the path to a swift recovery.  All tickets will be valid for the new date and exchanges will not be necessary. Thank you for your understanding.

Morrissey looks forward to making his long-awaited return to the city and wishes to deeply thank everyone for their patience. All remaining dates on Morrissey's tour will resume as planned, commencing in Toronto on Friday Apr 26.

It's unclear what this statement means for the scheduled shows throughout April leading up to the final dates on the trek Toronto. These included Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon and Winnipeg.

UPDATE (04/13, 8:45 p.m. EDT): According to Morrissey's official Facebook events page, Edmonton has also been reschedule to October. It's safe to say the rest of the mid-April dates will be rescheduled or cancelled as well, we'll update when we have more info.
