His label contract with Big Loud Records has also been suspended indefinitely

Controversial country star Morgan Wallen has had runaway success this year despite his best efforts to self-sabotage. Now, he's had all of his music removed from country radio and streaming playlists after being captured on video using the n-word. Plus, his recording contract with Big Loud Records has been suspended indefinitely.

Earlier this week, TMZ posted a video of Wallen saying the n-word. In a follow-up statement, the country singer said he was "embarrassed and sorry," adding, "I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back. There are no excuses to use this type of language, ever. I want to sincerely apologize for using the word. I promise to do better."

The consequences for his actions have been swift. According to Variety, Cumulus Media and iHeartRadio collectively ordered Wallen's music removed from their combined 1,200 radio stations across North America.

"Team, unfortunately country music star Morgan Wallen was captured on video Sunday evening using a racial slur," an internal message at Cumulus Media read. "Effective immediately we request that all of Morgan Wallen's music be removed from our playlists without exception. More to follow."

To put this move in perspective, one country radio figure who wished to not be named commented that Wallen is currently appearing in every half-hour of country music across 4,000 stations in the United States. He's had the most consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the charts since Garth Brooks' heyday in the '90s.

Wallen's music has also been removed from country playlists on streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music.

The consequences don't end there. Wallen has also had his recording contract with Big Loud Records suspended indefinitely:

This isn't the first time Wallen's ignorance has had repercussions for his short-lived career. Last year, he had his SNL appearance cancelled after he spent the week leading up to the show partying without a mask. He was given a second chance, appearing on a December episode that we rated 4/10.
