Moon Duo Announce 'Circles' Album, Return to Canada on North American Tour

BY Josiah HughesPublished Aug 6, 2012

Though often thought of as a Wooden Shjips side-project, it's unfair to view Moon Duo as anything other than a hard-working, prolific two-piece on their own. Need proof? They've just announced the details for their third full-length in less than three years.

The release is called Circles and was written at the band's home in Blue River, CO, earlier this year. From there, they returned to their original birthplace in San Francisco, where they completed recording the release with engineer Phil Manley (of Trans Am and Oneida).

As a press release explains, "Inspiration for many of the songs themes, as well as the title Circles, came from Ralph Waldo Emerson's 1841 essay by the same name, on the symbol and nature of 'the flying Perfect.'"

Circles will be available on October 2 via Sacred Bones. Album track "Sleepwalker" can be streamed below. Also be sure to check out the band's upcoming tour dates, which include stops in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
