Montreal garage punks PRIORS have shared the details of their forthcoming fourth LP, which they're previewing today with its title track.

Daffodil will be in bloom on June 2 via Mothland. It follows the band's 2020 full-length My Punishment on Earth, as well as the 2022 EP New New New!

Co-produced by singer-songwriter Chance Hutchison and guitarist Max Desharnais, the album will see the band turn over a new leaf (er, petal?) that's equal parts wit and sun-soaked mania.

"I'd say Daffodil is a pop-heavy punk record with a lot of positive outlooks," Hutchison said in a press release. "I have spent the last six releases kicking the shit out of myself and it was time for a new vibe. A little sprinkle of positivity amongst the angst."

"'Daffodil' is one of those songs that happened very quickly," he added of the unrelenting lead track. "All the parts just kind of wrote themselves including the vocal ideas. In the studio we opened it up a little more with the Vox Jaguar and acoustic guitar and Max added that wild 'beach sound' ending with the birds which I really feel pulls it all together."
