Amidst a packed house consisting of an odd assortment of mostly white, upper middle class fans, Miles Jones and his band (drums, bass, guitar, keys and a DJ) kicked things off strong with two hard-hitting, tight songs. Right off the bat, the crowd was moving and grooving. The party vibe was infectious and the initial energy of their funky jazz/hip-hop fusion was enough to keep things afloat for the rest of their performance and beyond, even when they slowed things down a bit for one disappointing song. A great live band that just happen to play hip-hop.
