Michael Mayer

The co-founder of the Kompakt label closed out the last Nocturne of the festival by playing a three-hour DJ set that kept the crowd thick until six in the morning. In spite of his major record skippage, Mayer played a perfect Kompakt dance set with entrancing fat and fuzzy synth melodies that he built up only to again deconstruct. At times he ventured into some dark, tech-y tribal percussion beneath some dissonant, eerie chimes.
