It seems almost cosmic, but just over a year after dropping the punnily titled Vicki Leekx mixtape, M.I.A. has announced a team-up with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to make some music for the controversial journo's upcoming TV show The World Tomorrow.

As Pitchfork reports, the two recently got together to compose some original music for the program, which premieres April 17 on English-language Russian station RT. The show will also be available online.

"Julian assange borrowed my computer last week , im still FREAKING OUT !!!!!" M.I.A. tweeted today (April 13) of the collaboration.

The World Tomorrow will feature interviews Assange has conducted from his home on the English countryside, where he is currently under house arrest. A press release explains that "the most interesting and controversial people alive in the world today," including "politicians, revolutionaries, intellectuals, artists and visionaries," are set to appear. So far, 12 episodes have been filmed.
