Mexican Summer Revives Anthology Recordings Reissue Imprint

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 26, 2014

Anthology Recordings used to operate as an all-digital reissue label, but after a few years of inactivity, it has now relaunched as a full-scale reissue imprint courtesy of Mexican Summer.

Unlike the label's prior incarnation, it will now release vinyl and CDs, in addition to digital downloads. Despite the changes, however, it will continue to operate with "the same curatorial focus and artist input that has fuelled the imprint from day one, across any genre of music worth rediscovering."

Anthology's first two psychical releases will be Linda Perhacs' 1970 psych folk album Paralellograms and Creation Rebel/New Age Steppers' 1981 dub-punk collaboration Threat to Creation. These will both arrive on April 29.

After that, quirky pop act the Stroke Band and German synth composer Rüdiger Lorenz will be treated to reissues, although release details are still forthcoming. Until then, check out the label's newly launched website here.
