Red and Meth are back to see "How High" they can get together on their new disc, Blackout! 2, ten years after they dropped their first collaborative project, 1999's Blackout! With both MCs pushing 40, Reggie and Clifford manage (not surprisingly) to release a lyrical onslaught over grimy '90s heyday production (thanks to regular cohorts Eric Sermon and Rockwilder), which allows them to stick with their winning formula while simultaneously getting their "grown-man shit" on. On the Eric Sermon-produced grime-funk of "Dangerus Mcees," Red and Meth trade punch lines as easily as Meth cracks a Philly. Other standout tracks are "City Lights," featuring Bun B, and vintage Wu-styled cipher "Four Minutes To Lock Down," which has Raekwon and Ghostface registering assists. If there's ever a How To Grow Old Gracefully in The Rap Game manual made then Blackout! 2 would surely be the album that's used as a reference.
