Metallica Release Digital Box Set On iTunes

Haven't spent enough money on Metallica? Luckily for you, the band have just released The Metallica Collection, a digital box set of sorts through iTunes. For $99.99, you can own (again) all of the band's studio albums as well as a smattering of kinda-rarities and live tracks fans were already suckered into buying with the iTunes versions of the studio albums. (Yes, they're great live, but do we need to sit at home listening to more live versions of their songs?)

With over 160 tunes this is a case study in all the things this band did so damn right and so damn wrong over the years. It's also fun to scroll through the tracklisting and marvel at how long the average Metallica song actually is. (Just don't accidentally click "Buy album" like I did.)

Perfect for the new fan... no, wait, it's way too expensive and overwhelming. Perfect for the long-time fan... no, wait, we have this stuff already. Perfect for... perfect for...
