Metallica Concert Crashed by a Dog, and Nothing Else Matters

Everybody wants to go to the Metallica show. Toronto fans were devastated when the band's massive world tour behind new album 72 Seasons didn't include a stop in Ontario's capital — and Kirk Hammett saying they wouldn't play the city for at least three years back in April was salt in the wound.

But there was no halt(ing) the hound last weekend when Metallica performed back-to-back nights at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, and a local pup managed to sneak into the Sunday (August 27) show. Storm, a husky who lives right near the venue, apparently managed to escape from her owners and get past security at SoFi, where she found herself a seat and enjoyed the show.

Metallica took to Twitter today to clear up any confusion created by reports that a dog had been abandoned at their concert and assure that Storm, the independent woman that she is, "made her way to the gig all by herself."

"After a full night taking in the show with her #MetallicaFamily, Storm was safely reunited with her actual family the next day," they wrote, with owner Arizabeth Hurtado having been able to reconnect with her pooch after she saw a post from the Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation about Storm's appearance at the concert.

Hurtado told Pet Helpful [via Stereogum], "She is home and safe! We learned something new about her... she is apparently a huge Metallica fan who decided to sneak out for the concert!"

After stealing all of my dog-related song title pun ideas, the band also reminded fans that they definitely shouldn't bring pets to their shows — although Metallica were among the acts who experimented with using COVID-sniffing dogs on tour last year.
