Back in 2014, Metallica brought their entire catalogue back to wax with the launch of their Blackened Recordings label, and the metal icons are now set to crack open the vault for a new vinyl subscription club.

The newly unveiled Metallica Vinyl Club will find the band pressing "rare cuts, demos & rough mixes, and live rarities" that have never appeared on the format to exclusive 7-inch records.

For the Metallica Vinyl Club's inaugural year, each subscription will include a personalized membership card, four 7-inch records and additional collectibles such as stickers, picks, posters and more.

"It's been super exciting to see the resurgence of vinyl and how much enjoyment we all get collecting, exploring and connecting with other fans mining for lost treasures," the band wrote in announcing the service.

"Those of us who love the look, feel and sonic warmth of vinyl are sorta in our little exclusive club, so with that in mind, we thought it would be fun to start adding to our collections on a regular basis."

Membership signups are open through March 31 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, with further details available through the Metallica Vinyl Club website.

Metallica's most recent album was 2016's Hardwired...to Self-Destruct. Recently, the band had a new species of crustacean named in their honour.
