Since forming in 2014, Men I Trust have cycled through a variety of lineups and formats centring on production duo Jessy Caron and Dragos Chiriac. Now that the project appears to have settled on a core trio featuring vocalist Emma Proulx, Men I Trust are riding a wave of woozy, synth-washed dream pop to great success.

Joined by a live drummer, the group doled out songs both old and new to demonstrate the strength of their collaboration. On "Lauren," the group showcased strong contrast between the buoyant leading bass line and Proulx's airy R&B vocals, adept at evoking a hazy atmosphere. New single "I Hope to Be Alone" continues to mine their Morcheeba and Mazzy Star influences for a laidback, emotive track that quickly stood out as the set's best. It's a good sign of things to come from the troupe; here's hoping this lineup sticks long enough to see them happen.
